I'm not inspired
I was e-mailing with someone the other day. This was at work. They were BUSINESS e-mails. And at the end of each of the e-mails from this person was the following quote:
"Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away."
Really? Your Outlook signature includes an inspirational quote? And your Outlook signature is set to repeat on each and EVERY e-mail? I HATE the inspirational quote e-mail signature people. Shut the fuck up! And quit wasting my time reading your "feel-good" bullshit. It's not appropriate.
And plus, what the hell is this quote about? We should measure life by the moments that take our breath away? Does that include a punch in the ribs? Or how about a 10-minute windpipe strangulation? Maybe it means that person who's buried alive or tossed in the East River with cement blocks chained to his feet. I mean, cement shackles? That's happened to me several times now, so I suppose my life is pretty fucking great!
